Hire an apprentice – unlock funding opportunities
Are you looking to hire an apprentice and grow your workforce with fresh talent? The UK government offers funding and incentives to help employers like you take advantage of apprenticeship programmes.
In-Comm could potentially offer funding opportunities through government-backed initiatives or industry partnerships. We may facilitate access to grants or co-funding schemes for apprenticeships, professional training, or skill development programs. Please get in touch to see if you are eligible.
Funding & Support for Employers
You can get help from the government to pay for apprenticeship training. You might be able to get an additional payment of £1,000, depending on the apprentice you hire.
Small Employers (Non-Levy Paying)

- If your annual pay bill is under £3 million, the government covers 100% of training costs for apprentices aged 16-21.

For apprentices aged 22 to 24 who have either been in the care of a local authority or have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, the government also fully funds 100% of training and assessment costs, up to the funding band maximum.

For apprentices aged 22 and over who do not meet the criteria above, the government funds 95% of training and assessment costs, and the employer pays the remaining 5%, up to the funding band maximum.
Large Employers (Levy Paying)

- If your annual pay bill exceeds £3 million, you pay the apprenticeship levy (0.5% of your pay bill).
- These funds can be used to train apprentices and are valid for 24 months before expiry.

Apprenticeship Levy Transfers
If you’re a non-levy-paying employer, large businesses can now transfer up to 50% of their unused levy funds to other employers, including SMEs, to help cover the cost of apprenticeship training.
Additional funding support
Employers are eligible for a £1,000 incentive payment when they hire an apprentice who is either:

Aged 16 to 18 years old.

Aged 19 to 24 years old and has either been in the care of a local authority or has an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan.
This payment is intended to support employers in providing quality apprenticeship opportunities to younger individuals and those requiring additional support.
