Level 2 apprentices will be embarking on their first career choice and may work in roles such as administrators, office juniors, receptionists/medical receptionists, junior legal secretaries or junior medical secretaries. Tasks undertaken by apprentices will vary depending on the level and sector in which they are employed.
Tasks may include:

- Contributing to the organisation of events
- Developing and delivering presentations
- Providing reception services
- Using and maintaining office equipment
- Providing administrative support for meetings
- Using a variety of software packages
- Analysing and presenting business documents
- Managing projects
All learners will complete both on and off the job training elements for this framework and at the end of their programme will not only complete their Level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration learners will also gain a Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration. Dependent upon prior qualifications learners may also need to complete functional skills in English, Mathematics and Information & Communications Technology.
For the off the job training element it is compulsory that learners attend centre to achieve knowledge, understanding and competence training. This begins with a 3 day induction covering the principles of apprenticeships and Induction to Programme, this then moves onto block days off the job throughout the 15 month programme covering the following subjects:
