Interview Tips

Interview Guidance:

You must prepare well for any interview you attend. Always dress smartly, understand the job role you are applying for and ensure you have fully researched the company beforehand. If you are knowledgeable, you will be more confident. This is your opportunity to make a good impression and give yourself the best possible chance of a successful outcome.

Top Tips:

Ensure you are aware of where the interview is taking place, how you are going to get there and who to ask for when you arrive.
First impressions last – good manners and an introductory handshake are always a good start.

Try not to answer questions with just a YES or NO – your answers need to be more expanded than this.

Questions you may be asked:

• So, tell me what you know about the company.
• And why do you want to work for us?
• Why do you feel this is the right job role for you?
• What previous experience / hobbies / interests do you have to support your application?
• Where do you see yourself, career wise, over the next five years?

If you are able to show them a portfolio of any studies, or photographs of your work, this could be a good talking point and an opportunity to demonstrate your abilities or previous experience, and will help to keep the conversation flowing

Questions you could ask:

• Have you employed apprentices before, did they achieve their qualification, do they still work for you?
• What opportunities would be available in the future if I was successful?
• How will the training be delivered?
