Introduction

Current legislation, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, applies to all workplaces regardless of the number of employees and requires employers to provide adequate training in fire awareness for all members of their staff.

This half day course provides training in the use of different types of fire extinguishers and the protocol of tackling a fire.

To provide the learner with the knowledge and understanding to use fire extinguishers to tackle fire when safe to do so.

This programme uses a mixture of information input sessions, group discussions, pro-forma examples and practical exercises to fully involve participants.

Participants will:

  • Learn the theory of fire
  • Learn the type and operation of fire extinguishers
  • Practical on the correct use of fire extinguishers on controlled fires
