Industrial Robot Technology Course – Level 3
Introduction

Industrial robotics is the present and future of automated manufacturing and is an unstoppable reality. With the emergence of lighter, smarter, and safer industrial robot models that are increasingly easy to interface, the demand has never been so high and is expected to grow yearly. Popular applications for industrial robots include welding, painting, assembly, and materials handling. Modern industrial robots are integral to cyber-physical mechatronic systems, contributing to Industry 4.0 manufacturing.

This level 3 ten-day course aims to develop learners’ understanding of the operation and control of industrial robots which will give them the knowledge and skills needed to work safely when producing programmes for robots or robot work cells. This course would suit people of all roles who are looking to gain a level 3 qualification in robotics.

EAL accredits this programme as part of their Level 3 suite of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Qualifications.

  • Hazards and Health, Safety and Maintenance requirements associated with industrial robots and robot work cells.
  • Health and safety for the safe operation
  • Maintenance procedures
  • Safety barriers
  • Operating, Design and control Principles of modern industrial robots and typical robot work cells.
  • Operating principles
  • Design principles.
  • Control systems, including input, output, and feedback signals, used to control the operation of an industrial robot or robot work cell to perform specific tasks.
  • Operating Principles of industrial robot sensors and end effectors.
  • Sensors and their relevant application in an industrial robot or robot work cell.
  • Industrial robot or robot work cell effectors being used to perform a specific task.
  • Reasons for the use of a specific sensor/end effector for a given industrial robot or robot work cell.

This programme uses a mixture of group discussions, pro forma examples, information input sessions and practical application to fully involve participants.

What you would be able to do following the training: Program a complex robot program, have a good understanding of Hazards and Health, Safety and Maintenance requirements associated with industrial robots, Operating, Design and control Principles of modern industrial robots, Operating Principles of industrial robot sensors and end effectors.

Participants will:

  • Know the hazards and health, safety and maintenance requirements associated with industrial robots and robot work cells.
  • Understand the operating, design and control principles of modern industrial robots and typical robot work cells.
  • Understand the operating principles of industrial robot sensors and end effectors.
  • Be able to produce a working programme for an industrial robot or robot work cells.
