IOSH Fire Safety for Managers
Introduction

A sustainable workplace fire safety culture is based on a shared set of positive attitudes, knowledge, perceptions and beliefs about fire prevention and fire protection. An important step to achieving such a culture is to get the buy-in of managers, supervisors and team leaders.

Fire Safety for managers gives managers and supervisors the knowledge and tools required to tackle fire safety issues in one day.

  • Employers’ responsibilities
  • Fire and fire safety measures
  • Assessing fire risk
  • Creating a fire safety culture

The course is delivered utilising a range of teaching methods encompassing practical exercises, group discussions along with individual written tasks.  All delegates are required to have the IOSH Managing Safety Workbook as part of the course delivery.  Assessment is in the form of a multiple format assessment paper at the end of the course.

  • Ensures delegates integrate fire safety as part of day-to-day management
  • Ensures delegates understand their responsibilities for fire prevention
  • Enables delegates to investigate and assess fire risks
  • Empowers delegates to  measure own performance and adopt fire safety good practice
