Metrology – Advanced Mcosmos Coordinate Measuring Machine Programming Course
Introduction

Mcosmos is a well-established programming language, used for programming coordinate measuring machines, commonly referred to as CMM.

CMM are used for the dimensional inspection and measurement of highly accurate parts in a large range of industries. For example, gears, turbine blades or medical devices

With an understanding Mcosmos’ basic functionality, CMM users can attend an advanced Mcosmos course. Providing attendees with greater knowledge around advanced alignments and tactile scanning functionality.

This four-day course is designed for those working in quality or inspection, who can read basic technical drawings. The course provides delegates with advanced skills to run CMMs and program complex parts in Mcosmos.

  • Review of basic alignments, feature measurements and dimensioning
  • Advanced alignment creation including best fit alignments, RPS alignments, etc.
  • Feature measurement, using CAD’s 2D and 3D Auto features
  • Analog scanning functionality allowing contact scanning of complex forms

This program mixes theory and practical activities in groups of up to three people from the same company. Where learning is applied through the use of Mcosmos and CMMs, with customer specific parts.

Participants will benefit from:

  • Review of Mcosmos’ Core functionality
  • Understanding of Advanced alignment techniques
  • Understanding of Mcosmos’ CAD Auto features
  • Understanding of Mcosmos’ analog scanning functionality
