Metrology – Advanced PC Dmis Coordinate Measuring Machine Programming Course
Introduction

PC Dmis is a widely used programming language for programming coordinate measuring machines, commonly referred to as CMM. CMM are used for the dimensional measurement and inspection of highly accurate parts. For example, turbine blades, gears or medical devices in a wide range of industries.

With understanding from a Basic PC Dmis training course or similar experience. Trainees can attend an Advanced PC Dmis course. Providing greater insight into advanced alignment, complex form scanning functionality and CAD model options.

This four-day course is designed for those working in a quality or inspection environment with an understanding of dimensional measurement drawings. The course aims to provide delegates with advanced skills to program complex manufactured parts on CMMs in PC Dmis.

  • Review of basic alignments, feature measurements and dimensioning
  • Advanced alignment creation including best fit alignments, iterative alignments, etc.
  • Feature measurement, using CAD’s 2D and 3D Auto features
  • Analog scanning functionality allowing contact scanning of complex forms

This program mixes theory with practical activities in groups of up to three people from the same company. Where learning is applied through the use of PC Dmis and CMMs, with customer specific parts.

Participants will benefit from:

  • Review of PC Dmis’ Core functionality
  • Understanding of Advanced alignment techniques
  • Understanding of PC Dmis’ CAD Auto features
  • Understanding of PC Dmis’ analog scanning functionality
