Programming Fanuc Milling G&M Codes and Canned Cycles (Introduction) Course
Introduction

Programming is a fundamental skill for all types of CNC machining, even as automation and new technology seem to be replacing programming tasks. Every machinist still needs to understand how their programs and tools work. Whether you’re new to CNC programming and its most common language, g-code, or you’ve been writing code by scratch for years, CNC codes can still feel like a foreign language. And to make things worse, every machine speaks a different dialect you have to understand. Do you understand what they’re saying? Here are the g-code basics you need to know to efficiently understand and write programs that produce high quality products.

This course is a mix of both theory and practical applications ideal for those with little or no previous knowledge who need an introduction to Fanuc Milling, programming G & M codes and canned cycles

The aim of this two day course is to provide a greater understanding of the theory of creating Fanuc programmes for Computer Numerical Control machines.

  • An introduction to G and M codes
  • Understanding when and where to use these codes
  • Creating Tabulation charts to complete programs
  • Setting workpiece Datums
  • Writing a C.N.C program

This programme uses a mixture of group discussions, pro-forma examples, information input sessions along with practical application to fully involve participants.

Participants will:

  • Learn how a Fanuc Milling programme is created
  • Learn a better understanding of codes used in C.N.C programming
  • Gain a fundamental foundation in order to move onto 4 or 5 axis programming
