Programming of Robotics Course – Level 3
Introduction

Industrial robotics is the present and future of automated manufacturing and is an unstoppable reality. With the emergence of lighter, smarter, and safer industrial robot models that are increasingly easy to interface, the demand has never been so high and is expected to grow yearly. Popular applications for industrial robots include welding, painting, assembly, and materials handling. Modern industrial robots are integral to cyber-physical mechatronic systems, contributing to Industry 4.0 manufacturing.

Aim: This level 3 short non-accredited four-day course aims to allow learners to develop robotic programmes specific to engineering tasks, this course would suit people of all roles looking to gain knowledge of using a robot.

  • Robotic Systems Safety
  • Types of industrial robot
  • Coordinate systems
  • Setting coordinate systems
  • Programming coordinate systems
  • Manual operation (jogging)
  • Speed control
  • Selecting co-ordinate systems
  • Error recovery
  • Intermediate Robot Programming
  • Movement commands
  • Tool commands
  • Conditional programming
  • Subroutines
  • Optimisation techniques
  • Tool systems
  • Selecting tooling
  • Calibrating tooling

This programme uses a mixture of group discussions, pro forma examples, information input sessions and practical application to fully involve participants.

What you would be able to do following the training: Program a complex robot program using different EOAT tooling configurations, use different coordinate systems and logic controls to replicate a real world automated cell.

Participants will:

  • Know the hazards, health and safety requirements associated with robotic systems safety.
  • Understand the different types of robots used within the workplace.
  • Understand the manual operating principles of robots.
  • Understand robot programming.
