In-Comm wins major national award
Our commitment to training the next generation of engineers and manufacturers has helped us win a major national award for our work.
We picked up the prize for Training Partner of the Year at the Enginuity Skills Awards 2022, which is widely regarded as the industry ‘Oscars’.
The awards, which took place in London recently, aim to celebrate the best talent across the engineering and manufacturing industries in the UK.
Gareth Jones, managing director of In-Comm Training, said: “We are astonished to be honest. To be awarded best in class is very humbling.
“It’s nice to be standing here being recognised for our hard work, but it’s not just our hard work. It’s another 60 people’s hard work.
“Also, it’s about engaging the disengaged now. Engineering and manufacturing needs to be a lot bigger than what they are.
“For any economy to be strong, you’ve got to be making product. That’s a message we’ve been trying to drive back since the 1980s, early 90s and throughout the last two decades.
“Now that message is becoming stronger again with the skills shortage and the job vacancies. Let’s all get behind making product. It’s so important.”
Mr Jones added that diversity and attracting apprentices from a wide variety of backgrounds was key to our success, especially with demand outgrowing supply and an ever-present need to attract new talent to the sector.
Chief Executive Officer at Enginuity, Ann Watson, said: “It was wonderful to see so many brilliant apprentices, learners and companies being awarded and celebrated.
“We have a remarkable depth of talent and enthusiasm at work throughout our sectors.
“Enginuity’s charitable mission is to help give engineers the opportunity to change their world and ours and these awards are the perfect opportunity to recognise their efforts.
“This is particularly important when it comes to supporting those who are starting or developing their careers, as well as enabling industry to bridge the skills gap.
“I’d like to thank everyone who made the night such a success and of course, congratulate our very deserving winners.”
