Meet The Team: Alan Turner

We sat down with Alan Turner, Sector Leader and Assessor, to find out more about his role at In-Comm Training.

How long have you been at In-Comm Training?

I have been with In-Comm for 11 years and get a real buzz from supporting students through their training.

What is the best thing about your job?

Seeing students develop new skills and then go to use them to achieve their career goals.

If you had to do one apprenticeship with In-Comm, which one would you choose and why?

Tricky question. I would probably choose electrical engineering as I’ve always been interested in this sector.

What’s been your proudest moment at In-Comm Training?

I wouldn’t be able to pick one moment because every time a learner succeeds it makes me proud. Hearing someone say ‘I wouldn’t have been able to do it without your help’ is a fantastic moment.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

One of my favourite things to do is travel and see new places. I also spend a lot of my free time with family, reading and watching sport.

What advice would you give to people thinking about embarking on an apprenticeship?

Do it and learn from people who have previously been in training or have the industry knowledge. Listen, ask lots of questions and most of all enjoy it, you are the future.
